We're Home

Brief Timeline to Creed:

6pm Tuesday, 10/18: Call from LA about a possible match.  We were told to pray and wait to make travel plans.
8pm: Call from LA that we were chosen and to get to Ruston, LA, ASAP.  Sooo, we booked 2 flights as fast as we could.

5am Wednesday, 10/19: We caught the first flight to Dallas and later on to Monroe, LA.
10am-2pm: We met our legal team in LA and bought all of the necessary baby supplies from the local store.
2pm: We made our way to Ruston, LA and the medical hospital.
2:25pm: Our eyes met our baby boy, Creed Raymond.  This was a very special time for us because we spent over an hour chatting and getting to know two new extended members of our family, Karrington and Brandon.  We will forever be connected through love, sacrifice, joy, bravery and family.

Between Wednesday and Friday, we spent time in the hospital and enjoying quality time with Creed.  We met several medical doctors and nurses that just loved hearing of our new extended family and our new bundle of joy.

We left the hospital on Friday and moved into a nearby hotel that was so welcoming to us.  We spent time driving between Ruston, Monroe and Shreveport.  We visited LATU and Gramblings University.  We even watched a soccer game on Sunday.  Sunday brought a bittersweet day.  Zach took a flight home to be with our oldest son, Tristan.  A few hours after he left, Grandpa Scott, Grandma Meg and our daughter, Colby, arrived after driving the 900 miles that separates home from Ruston, LA.

Sunday through Wednesday was spent in Ruston and Shreveport, LA.  We went to the outdoor mall and some new restaurants.  We especially liked Newt's and Rosemary's Garden.

On Wednesday mid-afternoon, I received a call from the ICPC office, by way of Zach, and I was told we could take Creed home!! Colby and I were so excited!  We drove that evening to Dallas, TX and spent the night.  Thursday morning we made the 10-hour drive home and Creed did so well in the car.  He only cried when we was hungry, which was about every three hours.  We arrived home to Zach and Tristan Thursday afternoon!  Our blessed family of 5!
